Rough Luck Racing Update

Gerald drove down from Musselburgh this morning to come to us for some work on his beautiful MGF mpi in Wedgewood.

All spheres replaced with reconditioned ones, new dampers fitted on all four corners. Cambelt service carried out. Few other things done on the list plus reseating the window guider seal, which was almost on the point of breaking.

Great to meet Gerald, looking forward to hearing how comfortable he finds the car now after his journey back home. Having owned a few MG’s in the past, this one is to be a keeper.

Camper stocked up with everything required for our tour to Scotland, starting tomorrow. I hope I’ve remembered it all. 😳

Think Jon was a bit tired! 😆

Rough Luck Racing Update

What an enjoyable day we had in Pegswood near Morpeth, in lovely company with Robert and Patsie for work on their fab looking Stepspeed.

AP 4 pot calipers and 304 mm discs, rear discs and pads, stainless brake hoses, brake fluid change and fab new wheels in shadow chrome all fitted. Pre MOT check done.

Date to be arranged to return for CVT fluid change and some other things.

Thank you Patsie for the amazing cake and the best brownie I have ever had! Jon’s a very happy chap to be going home with a pack up! Great to meet you both, so glad we’ve got her near to being back on the road again.

Rough Luck Racing Update

Sheffield this morning and good to see Aiden again who had asked when were we in the area next to check out a coolant loss on his TF135.

All the usual checks done and was found to be the water pump, weirdly this was the same problem with his last car that we went to. Good news for Aiden that his bill was slightly less than expected! He’s got a cracker of a car. Alternator belt replaced and he’s now all good to go for his trip south.

We then headed over to Chesterfield to see Stephen’s TF160 for the annual service and to go through his ‘niggle’ list.

Bit of an unexpected day, we were supposed to be going on the North Yorkshire groups run today and tomorrow. But, unfortunately, Steve and Georgia weren’t well enough to go so a decision was made to postpone to the spring. Wishing them both a speedy recovery and sending our very best wishes. Plus this means Adrian will be able to attend too and it’s something to look forward to next year.

Popped back over to Leeds this morning as had finally received the rest of the CVT fluid for Georgia’s steppy that had been on back order from our supplier, it’s so important to use the correct one in these cars, alternatives can have a detrimental effect on the gear boxes. Glad to get her a bit more on the road to having her steppy back to rights! Hope the MOT goes ok.

Back to the workshop, from there, to get a few things done. Plus we had a visitor.

Really great to see Les and his new acquisition, finally, and what a stunner he has got. Saw lots of pics of her prior, but even better in the flesh. An MGF, originally a 120, but now with 135 cams and a remap, in Copperleaf. He went away with a nice new under bonnet shiny pack and bonnet stay.

Great to see you Les and have a good old catch-up over a cuppa!
