That was a bit of a wet and windy one! Fortunately, we had a car port for some shelter from it, while we were working in Macclesfield today.

It was cambelt service time for Tony’s TF 135 and Tony asked us to also service his brothers TF 135. It was suspected that the clutch had gone on his brothers car too. So a couple of days booked in for the work and an overnight stay.

First up was Tony’s TF, all bolts behaved, cambelt, water pump and tensioner replaced. While we were in there noticed a bit of an oil leak, which was down to the cam cover being lose, so replaced the gasket and cleaned everything up. Other service items replaced that Tony had and asked us to fit while we were there.

Next up was his brothers TF, which was a completely different story. One of engine mount bolts did not want to come undone. So plan B was implemented, which didn’t want to go well either, 4 hours spent undoing one bolt. Got there in the end though! Patience along with a few mashed bits of skin!

We also had the car booked in for clutch replacement, but on investigation found that the slave cylinder had gone and the release arm was stiff. So this was freed off and new slave cylinder fitted. System bled and clutch working as it should. Saving Tony’s brother a bit of money and it should be good for many more miles.

Great to see Tony as always, keeping us supplied with many welcome cuppas and choccie bics.

A later than thought finish, but our digs are only a few miles down the road in Congleton. Welcome big bath to thaw out in and then get the admin done. Will venture over to the adjoining pub for some tea.

Now we’ve gained a day, we’ll go back to the workshop in the morning and get more done on Adam’s and Stephen’s cars. 😃 – https://ift.tt/363HZbI

A lovely sunny morning for run over the Humber estuary as we headed to Cleethorpes, where it was great to see Keith again and his, really well cared for, TF 135 85th Anniversary. Paint code is 297 for those interested.

Cambelt, water pump, tensioner, aircon alternator belt all replaced and oil change done.

Good to catch-up with Keith again. His car, as always, a pleasure to work on too.

Made the most of a rare early finish as have a lot of things to catch up on and orders to place etc. Doesn’t help that Facebook crashed this evening, aargh! 😵‍💫 – https://ift.tt/363HZbI
