Brooklands MG Era Day – absolutely brilliant day.
Saw so many friends for great chats and catch-ups. Excellent turn out of amazing examples of MGs through the decades.
Great to see Jim and get him sorted out with a new alternator belt and handbrake. Amazing venue steeped in history. Tour of Concorde this time!
Fantastic to see so many lovely friends and have a catch-up. An amazing turn out of some fabulous vehicles.
Fab organization by Gemma and her team of volunteers as always.
Weirdly for us we didn’t have to go and rescue anyone this year!
An 80th Anniversary edition of a beautiful looking MGTF 160 in Easingwold was our work today.
Lovely to meet Ben who had brought her out of hibernation ready for the summer. Full cambelt service carried out. Water pump had been leaking for a while so a well timed replacement. Really great morning and Jon loved the lemon drizzle cake, thank you Ben.
Darlington and Durham are our destinations tomorrow.
Almost home after a really good day. First call in Cannock and a pleasure to meet Steve and his wife for cambelt service on his fantastic looking MGF 160, he also wanted us to underseal the whole car. Not a spot of rust to be seen! Near side rear top ball joint replaced.
He also wanted us to give the car a check over for peace of mind. A real pleasure to do as all nuts and bolts behaved themselves!
From there we travelled to Broadway to see Liz & Marc as Little Red had been experiencing problems with the alternator. Voltage regulator replaced and all back to rights again. Thanks so much Liz for the cuppa and cake! Great to see you and we look forward to the further adventures of Little Red.
A productive day, collected the TF135 from Beverley and took her up to the unit, really great moment having our first project on site.
We then went to collect Jon’s much neglected, through lack of time, but very loved F. We can’t wait to restore her to her former glory (not mentioning of course removing the engine from the dining room)! There’s so much history involved with this car, it will be an exciting project to record and so pleased we now have the space to do it in.
Next chance we have will be to collect the other TF we have set aside for restoration.
West Heslerton, near Malton was our destination this morning to see Nigel for cambelt service on his TF135 that he is putting back to rights. Whilst there we pressure tested his ZT and found a leaking hose, all sorted for him. Thanks to Lucie for your recommendation.
We then went on to look at a potential sales car with a snapped cambelt and blown engine. General condition was good, this is one of two we have bought so far to put back to rights at the unit and sell on.
Updates will be posted on their progress, great to save what will be two cracking little cars.
Great to see Mark again today In Conisbrough with his new acquisition. Got himself a bit of a gem, a TF135 that had obviously been very well cared for in its previous life.
We went to do head gasket, cambelt service, underfloor pipes and generally check it over.
