We are mobile mechanics who specialise in the K-series engine, which can be found not just in MGF’s, MGTF’s and MG Rover’s but also in the Freelander, Lotus and Caterham cars. Rough Luck Racing provide full servicing, repairs, upgrades and modification services to these vehicles.
Travelling throughout the UK we can visit you and service and/or repair your car on site, at your home location.

General Servicing
Servicing your MGF, MG TF, MG, Rover or K-Series based vehicle at your home or work place.
Head Gasket Repairs
Head gasket failures can be repaired and Jon has replaced more HG’s than he cares to remember. Once replaced the owner need never worry about HGF again.

Clutch and Drive Plate Replacement
Mobile Clutch and Drive Plate Replacement services for the MGTF and MGF including Stepspeed Models.
AP upgraded Calipers & Fitting
Fitting of AP Racing upgraded calipers – Old calipers and discs removed, AP 4 Pot calipers installed and bled.
Coolant Pipe Fitting
We offer a service to replace coolant pipes and correctly bleed the system again with OAT coolant.
Hydragas Suspension
Rough Luck Racing provide a mobile service and can visit you at your home or work place and ensure your MGF suspension is at the correct high and working as it should.

K-Series Engine Remap Service
We are a franchise for Kmaps, the K-series engine remapping service. In brief summary the maps improve engine output by approximately 10% with better throttle response and drivability, whilst also improving fuel economy.
Emerald ECU Fitting
Emerald Electronic Control Units are a must for the serious car tuner with its triple ignition map function controlled at the flick of a switch, bought directly from Emerald these systems allow a higher range of programmable functions within engine management.
Modification Service
Rough Luck Racing offer a service for supply of service/modification parts or to fit what a client has purchased.
Wizards of NOS Instalation Service
We are a recommended installer of nitrous oxide kits, which are supplied by the ‘Wizards of NOS’.
Health Check
We offer a free health check of your car where we can get the car up on the ramp and advise you on any potential issues and discuss what action is required if any seen.
MOT Pre Test
Plus we also offer a free pre MOT check. We can make you aware of issues if any seen and you can decide what action you would like to take. MOT testing can then be carried out at the MOT centre on the Estate. Any repairs required can then be rectified and the retest done on the same day.

Truly International Mobile Mechanics
UK and Ireland – Rough Luck Racing travel the UK week on week providing servicing and repairs to MG and Rover owners across the UK and Ireland. Check out our Instagram and Facebook to see where we are this week.
Norway – We travelled to Norway to carry out a preemptive head gasket change, a full cambelt service, underfloor pipe replacement, PRT fit and shocks all round on six cars in three days.
Since then, for the last seven years, we have continued to service these cars, the owners having regular servicing carried out whilst they are touring the UK. We’ve also featured in their monthly club magazine.
Lisbon, Portugal – For three years we have been carrying out regular servicing and repairs to an MG enthusiast in Lisbon.
Belgium – A full engine rebuild carried out in Belgium.
Mallorca – Full clutch replacement and fixed a none staring issue with an MGTF.
France – We have travelled to France to perform a head gasket replacement and cambelt service.
We have also received enquiries and offered our advice to owners located in Australia, Austria, Singapore and Germany.
